TeachersCarol Dean B.A. (Hons) MRSS(T)I began my Shiatsu studies in 1988 and graduated from the Shiatsu College in 1991. In 1998 I became a registered teacher with the Shiatsu Society and founded the Northern School of Shiatsu where I have been actively teaching ever since. I have also taught on shiatsu courses at Bradford College, Buxton College and the University of Derby. Outside my teaching I work with cancer patients and have my own practice. I have worked within a drug rehabilitation project, a women's disabilities group and with people with MS. Since 2002 I have been actively involved with sub groups within the Shiatsu Society. Teresa Hadland MRSS(T)I began my shiatsu studies in 1980. In 1984 I went to Japan to take part in a healing course which included shiatsu. After a year and a half I went on to Australia and worked for a year and a half in the Zen Shiatsu Centre in Sydney. On returning to Britain I began to study under Sonia Moriceau and graduated in 1988. In 1998 I became a registered teacher with the Shiatsu Society. I currently teach on the shiatsu module for the BA in Complementary and Holistic Therapies at the University of Derby. Since 2000 I have been actively involved with practitioner and teacher assessments for the Shiatsu Society. David Home MRSS(T), LicAc MBAcCI have been teaching since 1987 and am qualified in Western Intuitive Massage, Kinesiology and Acupuncture. In 1997 I became a member of the assessment committee for the Society, an assessment coordinator and exam-writer. I run the Ealing School of Shiatsu in London and have clinics in Ealing, West London and Central London. I have studied many forms of movement for over twenty years, including yoga, martial arts, Tai Chi and Spiraldance. |
The Shiatsu SocietyThe Shiatsu Society was set up in 1981 and acts as an umbrella organisation for anyone interested in Shiatsu. The Society is the professional body for practitioners of Shiatsu in the United Kingdom. It holds a register of qualified members who have passed the Society's independent assessment. Qualified members of the Society may use the initials M.R.S.S. The Northern School of Shiatsu is ratified by the Shiatsu Society, and diploma students are required to join the Society.
