Diploma Course Year One 2008/2009
Each weekend will include review of the Five Element theory in relation to the elements.
There will also be time for practice treatments on each other.
A range of self development exercises will be covered each weekend. These will include Makko-ho stretches, Do-In exercises, breathing and meditation exercises plus any exercises individual teachers may include.

- Theory of Yin and Yang,
- Principles of Zen Shiatsu,
- Practice-touch, positioning, work in prone position
WEEKEND 2- REVIEW
4th/5th October 2008
- Anatomy- Anatomical planes and sections, terms of positions,
- Introduction to four methods of diagnosis,
- Theory of Ki,
- Practical homework requirements-25 treatments,
- Communication and listening skills,
- Practice in prone position.
WEEKEND 3- METAL
1st/2nd November 2008
- Anatomy-Structure of cells,
- Introduction to Five Element Theory,
- Classical meridians; location of Lung and Large Intestine meridians and relevant points,
- Zang Fu theory of the organs.
WEEKEND 4- EARTH
29th/30th November 2008
- Anatomy-Skeletal system,
- Develop work in supine position,
- Classical meridians; location of Stomach and Spleen meridians and relevant points,
- Zang Fu theory of the organs.
WEEKEND 5- FIRE- 1
10th/11th January 2009

- Anatomy-Muscles of head, neck and shoulder and related movements,
- Classical meridians; location of Triple Heater and Heart Protector meridians and relevant points,
- Zang Fu theory of the organs,
WEEKEND 9- WOOD
9th/10th May 2009
- Anatomy-Muscles of arms and torso and related movements,
- Develop work in side position,
- Classical meridians; location of Gall Bladder and Liver meridians and relevant points,

WEEKEND 10- OVERVIEW
6th/7th June 2009
- Anatomy- Muscles of pelvic area, legs, feet and related movements,
- Classical meridians; location of Governing Vessel and Conception Vessel meridians and relevant points, plus Bo points,
